Joell Ortiz & Crooked I – Iron On You [Smu RMX]

With Crooked I dropping his mixtape tomorrow he decided to go over Pusha T’s Exodus instrumental, the other day Joell started it off. So I thought i make this track a 1/2 Slaughterhouse Remix.

Make sure you grab Crooked I’s mixtape on the blogosphere (with tags) or on Itunes (without tags)

Joe Budden – All Of Me [Smu RMX] (Blend)

Yup i’m back again. This time I brought a blend Remix with me.
I took Joe Budden’s All Of Me and thought of an appropriate way to pay the track some homage with another instrumental.
So i tried several beats to reflect the mood of the song and decided to use Jay-Z’s “Lost One”.

What you probably notice is that the first bars might be slightly out of tune but it doesn’t affect the listening experience for y’all.
Have a good start into your week (i know most of y’all hate mondays) and enjoy the Remix.

DMX & Nas – Last Hope [Smu Remix]

DMX recently released a new EP featuring brand new Tracks. (Even though it is more like a Mixtape)
This is one of my favourite Tracks from it. People actually asked me to Remix this track with the original Drake record but as X doesn’t like Drake i thought it needed someone dope to be featured so I added Mr.Nasty Nas to the Mix.

Hope y’all enjoy it

Nas & AZ – Life’s A Bitch [Smu Remix] (Produced by Will Sessions)

I was listening to Elzhi’s Elmatic Mixtape the entire day today then kept the Instrumentals rolling on Vinyl and thought: “Man how dope would it be to blend Nas and AZ over the Will Sessions Instrumental?”

So I sat down studied the pattern of the beat for like an hour and then went ahead and tweaked the acapellas so it would fit eventually.

This is the outcome of the 2 1/2 hour Session.

Smu & 7th Boro Present: Slaughterhouse – Sabotage The Throne [Mixtape]

While i was having a blogging Hiatus i was working on this little gem right here.

This is a Mixtape by me which mainly shows Slaughterhouse teaming up with other great rappers to destroy some beats. Plain and simple.

To help you understand the meaning of the cover i asked the designer John Wheeler to explain it:

“Overall, I stuck with the idea of using a Lion as a visual metaphor. Lions have always been used to represent royalty, a king, or whoever has “the throne”.
The way I see it, Hip-hop is such a competitive game and especially since watch the throne was dropped a lot of MC’s are trying to claim that “the throne” is rightfully theirs.

While there is no official “throne”, it is a widespread belief that the rapper with most record sales would claim that spot.
The Lion represents anyone in that top spot, to me that means Wayne, Kanye, Jay-Z, Ross, etc. (not specifically any one in particular, it’s up to the viewer’s interpretation).
So the main concept is, Slaughterhouse might not sell as many records as most of the radio ringtone rappers, the so called best in the game, BUT they most definitely can destroy them lyrically.
The visual depicts that throne has been sabotaged with the blood of the fallen king”
