Rapsody featuring Skyzoo & Thee Tom Hardy – Honda Accord (Still Can’t Afford A Maybach Remix)

Let me introduce you to one of my favourite Female MC’s at the moment.

She goes by the name of  Rapsody and is part of 9th Wonder’s Jamla label.

You probably wonder why I listen to her, well there’s 3 reasons: She ain’t that cliche type of female rapper (example:Lil Kim) and she’s got a memorable voice and unique-ness.

Here’s a cut of her latest mixtape called “Return of the B-Girl” that has been released via djbooth.net a few days back.

It’s called “Honda Accord (Still Can’t Afford A Maybach Remix)” and is produced by 9th Wonder.

Skyzoo and Thee Tom Hardy are the feature guests on this track and they add their cents to the record.

I wish some female artists would just stick to rapping like Rapsody instead of just relying of their looks.

Anyway hit the links below to listen/download the joint and also check out the official video!

Nas – Snitch Alibi (Produced by Boola)

It’s been a minute since we heard Nas on a record. Although i gotta say it was his year with “Distant Relatives” (I still spin it.).

I’m probably among those people who still hope that “Lost Tapes 2” will drop this year, that would be a great Christmas present.

However here’s a Freetrack that the producer Boola let loose on twitter a couple of days ago.

The Game featuring Nas & Marsha Ambrosius – Why You Hate The Game (2010 Aston Morton Mashup)

Exclusive Ishhhhhh! My dude Reii is back with a brand new mash-up.It’s been a long time since he last dropped a track but i’ll let him explain the whole situation why he decided to come back:

(Reii)

“So I’m back… well, kinda. When I started mixing, I chose to mix the material I liked; my first mixtape, “Jaylib In Wonderland” was some real hip-hop music, and I’ve gotta stick by what I thought on the first playback; that’s one of the realest fan-made mixtapes out there! (Shoutouts to SMU for postin’ it back then, too) That was back in ’09, and since then I gained around 2m YouTube views, more and more Subscribers and fans… by going commercial. I thought I’d broaden my work just to prove to myself and others I can hack all fields of music… whether it be real hip-hop, or some Lil’ Wayne shit!Well, since then, I lost love from all those ‘true’ hip-hop heads who thought I sold out, and we as DJ’s/hosters/whatever you wanna call us, sure as hell don’t get no love from the internet! So, I gave up on the whole music shit for a minute… (and I gotta say, I thought other ‘YouTube’ DJ’s etc would be holding it down… obviously not.)But, considering I did all that in only a year, with the help of a few friends on the way, I thought to myself “forget this shit.” So, from now on, I’mma just mix what I want, how I want, when I want. And, obviously share that with whoever wants to listen… So, without draggin’ this shit out too much, here is a track I mixed, cos I wanted to mix it, and I liked it… hope ya’ll like it too!”

And remember what i said: I only post Shit that i like,if you don’t like it it’s just a matter of taste. But i’ll tell you this mash-up is dope! If you like what you hearing reii has also opened up a new channel on youtube so you can be up to date with his shit.

Redman speaking on Def Jam

Does the headline remind you of something? You’re not wrong because it wasn’t even a month ago when Nas posted his “polite” E-Mail to the Def Jam Executives about his “Lost Tapes 2” Project.

Now Redman speaks on the current state of Def Jam but not as harsh as Mr.Jones or Shyne did.

“Well [now], Def Jam are not leaders. They’re not leaders plain and simple, because it’s changed. They’re not leaders like they used to be. In the ’90′s they were leaders. They were the label that you considered the mechanics of hip-hop; they’re under the car. They were the ones under the car getting greasy, getting dirty, fixing that muffler that drags when everybody loved that sh*t and was following it. Now they’re playing the follower. They’re followers; they’re not building artists no more like they should. And that’s just the game. It’s not they fault. We got into the Internet world and sh*t is moving fast and came so fast and came so quick that labels couldn’t exist, but still they got the money and they’re a company. They’re supposed to adjust. I think they need to get that going. Being a label, being on top.Yeah they have to play catch up. They have to catch up now. The way the labels were ran back then in the ’90′s. We had tapes and even from studio equipment a lot of people weren’t prepared for that, like getting rid of their 24 track reel tapes. So yes, it came up quick on a lot of labels with this viral [thing] and [now] you’re able to do songs in the comforts of your own home. They shutting studios down, you can get known through Facebook or whatever. You don’t have to wait for a label to put you out now, so yes I think the labels are shut down a little bit and sizing down a lot.”

Hmm i’m not even surprised about it since they haven’t even made the effort in promoting his upcomming Album “Reggie” which drops this comming Tuesday (December 7th).You didn’t know? Blame Def Jam and their shitty promo team

All i can say is Def Jam Syndrome and dear Def Jam execs: Get your shit straight!
